The supply of Mini-LED panels, according to experts, will grow until 2024, but in 2025 growth will basically stop, and a similar trend will continue in the future, according to the South Korean portal The Elec, citing analysts at Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) . The reason is the qualitative changes in technologies used in Apple tablets and laptops.

According to the publication, the company will use OLED panels instead of Mini-LED in its new iPads and, subsequently, in various MacBook models. It is expected that global shipments of Mini-LED panels will reach 24.47 million units this year and grow to 30.23 million in 2024. However, from 2025 to 2027, the annual supply volumes will remain at the level of about 30 million copies.
At the same time, the use of Mini-LED will increase in TVs and monitors, while in laptops, on the contrary, will decrease. It is known that Apple began using this type of panels in the iPad and MacBook back in 2021, but the situation will change dramatically soon. Starting next year, the company expects to use OLED displays in its tablets, and in 2025 – in laptops. However, Mini-LED displays will continue to be widely used by Samsung and other manufacturers for their premium TV models, and experts predict that this trend will continue until 2027.
At the end of last month, it was reported that the supply of Mini-LED in the world in 2022 increased by 1% , while in the segment of other panels there was a significant decline.
