The Copland CTA407 amplifier will replace the CTA408 model in the Danish company’s range. Unlike Copland Audio’s recent premieres, which have a hybrid configuration with a tube pre-stage and a transistor output stage, the CTA407 is a classic tube amplifier with push-pull output stages operating in ultra-linear mode, using a pair of beam tetrodes in each channel, providing an output power of 2×50 Watts per channel. class A/AB, and for most of the power range the amplifier operates in pure class A. At the same time, the nonlinear distortion coefficient does not exceed 0.8%, the operating frequency range extends from 10 Hz to 150 kHz at a level of -3 dB, and the signal ratio /noise exceeds 100 dB – impressive performance for a tube amplifier!
The Copland CTA407 amplifier allows you to use any model of the 6550/KT88/KT120/KT150 family as output tubes – the proprietary lossless automatic bias adjustment system will determine the optimal operating mode of the selected tubes. The Copland CTA407 comes with KT88 tubes in the output stages, two 12BH7 dual triodes and one ECC83 dual triode in the preamp stages. All transformers in the amplifier (power and two output) are toroidal, of our own production.
The switching arsenal of the Copland CTA407 integrated amplifier includes four linear unbalanced inputs on RCA connectors and linear input and output for connecting a tape recorder. There is also a built-in tube phono stage for working with moving magnet (MM) or moving coil (MC) cartridges with high output, inherited from the popular CTA405 model, made on four tubes – a pair of double triodes ECC83S (12AX7) and two double triodes E88CC (6922). To connect acoustic systems, there are three acoustic terminals in each channel – the output transformers have separate terminals for acoustics with a nominal impedance of 4 and 8 Ohms.
The Copland CTA407 integrated tube amplifier features a motorized volume control and relay input selector, allowing it to be controlled using the included Copland RC102A remote control. The new product is offered in silver and black.
