The Czech company Xavian announced the release of a new model of speaker systems Virtuosa Anniversario , built on Scan-Speak Ellipticor speakers .
These speakers are the first mass-produced systems to use these latest elliptical voice coil drivers. The model has a three-way configuration: the low-frequency range is reproduced by a 222 mm speaker with a paper cone with a special impregnation, the mid-frequency range is sounded by a 180-mm driver, also equipped with a paper cone, and a 120-mm tweeter with an elliptical silk dome is responsible for the high frequency range.
The crossover frequencies are set at 300 Hz and 2500 Hz , the lower cutoff frequency is stated at 27 Hz at -3 dB. There are no capacitors in the filter, only Danish-made ribbon coils and precision resistors are used. The hulls are made from high density fibreboard and are reinforced with internal ties and bituminous pads.
The bass reflex port is made of wood and is located on the front panel, which is tilted back for better timing of the emitters. Soundcare spikes are supplied with the speakers , each speaker weighs 51 kilograms . The declared sensitivity is 92 dB, the nominal resistance is 4 ohms.
Xavian Virtuosa Anniversario will be released in a limited edition of 50 speakers.
