The American manufacturer Vizio has expanded its M-Series Elevate line of soundbars by adding two models with Dolby Atmos support. One of them is a 5.1.2 soundbar with signature swivel speakers, a technology found on Vizio’s flagship models.
Vizio M-Series Elevate (M512E-K6, we are talking about it) is an audio system with thirteen speakers. It consists of the actual soundbar, wired surround speakers, and a separate wireless subwoofer (45Hz). The height speakers along the front of the soundbar automatically rotate 90 degrees when playing Dolby Atmos and DTS:X content to direct sound upwards. In other cases, they radiate sound forward, towards the listener. The technology was first introduced in 2020.
Unlike the current leader in this category, the Sonos Arc soundbar, the new product supports both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, as well as HDMI eARC and Bluetooth (5.0) connectivity. There are additional HDMI 2.0 ports with 4K Dolby Vision signal pass-through and a separate input for connecting a smart speaker with Google Home or Amazon Alexa voice assistants. When the soundbar is used with a Vizio TV, you can control the sound settings using the TV remote control.
The second newcomer, the M-Series All-In-One, is a single 2.1-channel soundbar with dedicated bass drivers supporting Dolby Atmos and DTS:X virtual sound. Connectivity is the same as the older model.
