Joachim Gerhard , head and main developer of the German company Suesskind Audio , has introduced a new generation of flagship Kronos speakers , which received the suffix MK 2 . New items are equipped with a proprietary AirBass 2 system and beryllium mid-range and high-frequency emitters.
Joachim Gerhard is a world-renowned high-end audio designer who made a name for himself at Audio Physic. He has been involved in the creation of such legendary speakers as STEP, SPARK, TEMPO, VIRGO, AVANTI, MEDEA, CALDERA and KRONOS. Many of his ideas and solutions were reflected in technical and scientific articles, and later were used in products of other brands. He is also a visiting scientific consultant at the University of Essex, where he did research in psychoacoustics with Prof. Malcolm Hawksford.
The new Suesskind Kronos MK2 loudspeakers are able to create a massive soundscape with deep bass and clear mids. In many ways, this is the merit of the proprietary AirBass 2 system. Beryllium drivers for mids and highs provide the highest detail in the sound stage. The novelty is ideally suited for work in big rooms. High sensitivity of 91 dB and a nominal impedance of 8 ohms without critical minima in the entire operating range allow the use of speakers even with low power tube amplification.
The recommended retail price of Suesskind Kronos MK 2 speaker systems in Europe is 68,000 euros .
