At the annual High End Show 2023 opening today in Munich, the young company Schetl will present its first Schetl Bridgeway loudspeakers . The speaker is based on the proprietary SCALEAX coaxial driver , produced by Schetl from components from three different European companies.
The range below 3 kHz is reproduced by a 12-inch paper cone with a balanced directivity and a moving mass of only 32 grams, which allows you to work so high. Above this mark, a 1.7-inch quasi-constant directivity horn-style titanium diaphragm compression driver, mounted in the center of the driver, takes over.
PATHWAY is a passive two-way loudspeaker made in two insulated cabinets stacked on top of each other. The SCALEAX coaxial speaker is located in the top cabinet and operates in the full audio range. At the bottom is a 12-inch low-frequency driver, similar to SCALEAX with a light cone and a powerful magnet system, but without a tweeter. It supports the range below 250Hz. Speaker sensitivity is 96 dB, which makes this model an organic partner for tube single-ended amplifiers.
The passive crossover is housed in a plinth in an isolated volume and uses a first-order filter for the bass section and a second-order filter to separate the mids and highs. The components used in the crossover are of very high quality, selected through careful auditions. The crossover is equipped with switches with which you can adjust the frequency response in accordance with the acoustic characteristics of the room.
The speaker cabinets are made of premium quality beech plywood, which, combined with internal stiffening ribs, makes the construction extremely durable and resistant to vibrations.
Schetl Bridgeway speakers are available in real wood veneer finishes. Choose from Elm, European Walnut and Wenge veneer. In addition, there are options with black and white piano lacquer finishes.
