The famous British brand Meridian presented a new generation of DSP 9 active loudspeakers at the High End Show in Munich . The design of the speaker is based on the “ellipse geometry”, and, according to Meridian, not only visually captivates, but also has a beneficial effect on sound quality.
The complex shape of the Meridian DSP9 cabinet minimizes unwanted sound wave diffraction. Meridian claims “outstanding fidelity, dynamics and power” whether the DSP9 is part of a stereo or home theater system. This is Meridian’s second product from the Extreme Engineering Program , which aims to achieve performance previously unattainable for loudspeakers of this size. The first was the DSP8000 XE, released in 2021, but the Meridian DSP9 looks much sleeker.
Meridian DSP9 speakers incorporate the company’s most advanced technologies, including Atlas Software Core, Precision Sonic Transport, R1 electronic platform, new generation speakers, Force-balance bass configuration, Digital Precision, Q-Sync, True Link, True Time, E3 Bass, Image Focus+, Pro-Active Bass, Pro-active Thermal, FFA, Free-Q, Perfect Balance and BSM. You can get tired of just listing … And all this, according to Meridian, is aimed at achieving the highest sound quality and impressive dynamics and scale of the sound picture.
To control the Meridian DSP9, you can use a Meridian B-Link Bluetooth device, infrared, USB and RS232 interfaces, or a Meridian controller. Despite the fact that traditionally for the DSP series the basic interface for broadcasting content to speakers is a proprietary digital bus, the DSP9 model also allows connection to any source that has a balanced or unbalanced analog line output. All you need to do is equip the Meridian DSP9 with the optional Meridian IA21 analog input module.
Meridian DSP9 active loudspeakers are available in four basic finishes. In addition, the Meridian Select program is used for the model , which allows you to choose any color from the RAL palette. You can also choose from a matte or glossy finish. The suggested retail price for the base Meridian DSP9 in glossy black is £60,000 or $85,000 for a pair of speakers.
