MartinLogan Updates Motion and Motion XT Speakers

The American company MartinLogan , specializing in the production of speaker systems, has updated the popular Motion and Motion XT acoustic series . The manufacturer claims that the models of these series have been completely redesigned, including the design, for “maximum listening pleasure” . The most advanced technologies and innovative materials were used in the development process. MartinLogan emphasizes: “The new Motion Series offers unsurpassed sound quality, and stunning design will fit into the most elegant interiors . ”

The MartinLogan Motion series includes two floor-standing acoustic models – Motion F10 and Motion F20 , Motion B10 shelf monitors , Motion C10 center channel speaker and Motion MP10 wall-mounted model . The novelties are offered in three finishes: black piano lacquer (Gloss Black), walnut veneer (Walnut) and matte white (Satin White).

The MartinLogan Motion XT series includes two floorstanding models, the Motion XT F100 and Motion XT F200 , the Motion XT B100 bookshelf monitors, and the Motion XT C100 center channel speaker . The Motion XT series uses the new second-generation Obsidian Folded Motion ribbon tweeters . The proprietary thin-film tweeter technology has been improved by using a stronger magnet system in the driver, delivering “improved performance with less distortion and higher power output” according to the developers .

Also featured for the first time is the new Folded Motion Waveguide , which the manufacturer claims is the result of careful work to match the tweeter to ensure sound quality over a wide range of listening positions while minimizing unwanted room reflections.

In addition, the Motion XT series uses Nomex reinforced Kevlar midrange drivers, while the Motion series models feature woven fiberglass drivers. The floorstanders are equipped with new FAST mounts that provide improved vibration isolation and allow for tool-free adjustment, making speaker installation easier.

Models from MartinLogan ‘s new Motion and Motion XT series will go on sale in April 2023. Recommended retail prices for new products will be announced later.
