ELAC has introduced a new series of high end subwoofers Varro . The Varro series includes three subwoofer ranges that differ in design but are similar in approach – the perfect extension of the low frequency range to achieve dynamic and powerful bass. The Premium , Reference and Dual Reference ranges comprise a total of seven different subwoofer models, and all of them fully correspond to the meaning of the Latin name Varro: stable and strong… in every way!
The Premium series includes three models – PS250-BK , PS350-BK and PS500-BK , which differ in size, power of the built-in amplifier and driver size (10, 12 or 15 inches), which work in a phase-inverted design. The speakers are powered by proprietary BASH® technology amplifiers of 250, 350 or 500 watts, respectively. Subwoofer control, including an automatic calibration system for the acoustic features of the room, is implemented through the application for mobile gadgets ELAC SubControl 3.0 .
The Reference Series includes two models, the RS500-B and RS700-B , equipped with 10″ and 12″ HEX drivers and 500W and 700W BASH® amplifiers respectively. Drivers work in a closed case made of MDF panels 30 mm thick. Like the Premium series models, the Reference subwoofers are controlled using the ELAC SubControl 3.0 app.
At the top of the ELAC Varro family are two models in the Dual Reference series : DS1000-GB and DS1200-GB . Each of these subwoofers is equipped with a pair of 10″ and 12″ HEX woofers, respectively, implementing the push-pull concept in a closed cabinet made of 36 mm thick MDF panels. Models of the top series are equipped with amplifiers with a power of 1 and 1.2 kW, respectively.
All new additions to the ELAC Varro family are expected to be available at the end of March 2023. Suggested retail price in Europe by models:
